Topic outline

  • How to Study

    Before you start with your first lesson, please read through this introduction and discover some useful information about your studies.

    The course is broken down into multiple lessons. Each lesson consists of an introduction about the subject, the teaching and then some practical projects which allow you to put the teaching into practice.

    Flow of the course week
    At beginning of each course week you start with the new topic and apply the new practical projects.

    Teaching: Video, Audio and Text
    The teaching is made available in three different types. It is available as video, as audio and as the written text of the preaching. All of these three resources contain the exact same content and they enable you to chose your favorite way of studying.

    Practical Projects
    Part of each lesson are one or more practical projects. They can either be a quiz or an assignment.

    Quiz = 10 points
    The quizzes help you to find out if you have understood the content of the teaching. They will be immediately and automatically graded. Quizzes have a due date and late submission will result in getting no points for it.

    Assignment = 20 points
    The assignments are your practical application of the teaching. They hold an important part in the lesson and are therefore graded with a higher value than the quizzes. It is important that you read the assignment at the beginning of the week, so you know what is expected of you during the week.

    If you don't apply the project on a regular basis (where ever this is required by the assignment) you will not receive the full grade. In the case of late submission, there is a penalty of 1 point for each day you are too late.

    Mentor
    There is an assigned mentor who will be your contact person for this course. The mentor will lead you through your time of study and will also grade your assignments. You may ask them specific questions in the Course Forum or send them a direct message.

    Interaction with the other students
    You can get in contact and fellowship with the other students using the Course Forum or through the Course Chat or by using the School's messaging system.

  • Our Position In Christ (Part 1)

    Teaching

    Dear student

    he scepterWelcome to the course "Authority in Christ"! It is a joy that you have decided to enroll in this course and you want to find out more about your authority in Christ! It is a great subject that will release you to step out with a lot of confidence in your walk as a child of God, as you will know deep inside of you what you are capable of - through Christ.

    I am always amazed if I look at our kids or the kids of our friends. As young as they are, they do not fear people! There was this one scene that happened at a wedding, where David, the son of our friends, was talking to some other kids. They were playing in the jumping castle and David was "preaching" to one of the smaller boys.

    He started out: "Do you know Jesus?"
    The other boy only gazed at him and did not say anything.
    David continued: "Do you know why we love Jesus?"
    No answer came from the boy. He only looked a bit surprised about what he had heard here!
    Then David went on: "You know, Jesus died for us on the cross. And therefore when we die, we will live forever in heaven with God."

    That was only the beginning. I must say it was very amazing how persistent David was and how he went on and on. Of course I had to smile about that situation, it was so cute. But David just decided to talk about Jesus to this boy - and so he did.

    I could tell you about so many similar situations from our kids. For them it is the most normal thing to just talk about Jesus and also talk to people that they do not know well. There is such a confidence in these little ones. Why?

    handsVery likely one reason is that they feel so loved and accepted! They did not have many bad experiences where they got rejected. And even if they did, they learned that they can go to Jesus and He will always love them and accept them. He is always standing there with open arms.

    Yes, they are "only" kids, but how important is this exact truth for us! How great is it to know that whatever happens to you, there is always somebody loving and caring for you and accepting you the way you are, even if you have failed completely!

    Well, in this first lesson about "Our position in Christ" you will learn more about this...

    You are welcome to go ahead to the first part of the teaching now, either by watching the video, listening to the audio or reading through the text about "Our position in Christ" (Part 1). May you be touched by the Lord as you study about the love and acceptance that the Lord has in store for you!

    It is always great to learn new things, but that is only the starting point. You will now have the opportunity to apply what you have learned, so that it becomes part of you and you can use it in your daily life.

    For this topic you will go through some questions that will show you, if you have understood the main principles. And after that you will get into a great practical project that I will explain to you later on. Just click on the practical projects:
